Terms of use
Last updated 1 November 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and the founders who run Nextroom from the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). By creating an account you agree to them, to the community guidelines and to how we use your information as set out in the privacy notice.
Who can join
- You must be 18 or over.
- Nextroom is for people starting or running a business, wherever they are in the world.
- You’re responsible for following the laws that apply where you live.
- One account per person, using information that’s true.
Changes to Nextroom
Nextroom is free to use. Features may change, pause or stop, and the site may sometimes be unavailable while we fix or improve it.
If we decide to close Nextroom, we’ll tell members by email and on the site at least 30 days before, so you can ask us for a copy of your information. We’ll delete members’ information within 30 days of closing, apart from anything the law requires us to keep.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself and tell us at admin@nextroom.club if you think someone else has used your account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may close an account that hasn’t been used for a long time, after emailing you first.
What you post
You own what you post. You give us permission to store it and show it to other members so that Nextroom can work. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies that remain in backups for a limited time.
You’re responsible for what you post. Don’t share anything you don’t have the right to share, including other people’s confidential information.
You can edit a post, comment or message for 10 minutes after you send it, and it’s marked as edited. After that it can’t be changed, but you can still delete your posts and comments.
Introductions and dealings between members
An introduction is a request. The person you contact decides whether to accept it. Any arrangement you make with another member, such as working together, hiring someone or doing business, is between you and them. We don’t check what members say about themselves and we aren’t part of any deal.
Posts and messages from members are not professional, legal or financial advice. Check anything important with a qualified adviser.
Nextroom must not be used to ask for or offer investment, such as shares, loans, crowdfunding or crypto-assets, or to promote financial products. In the UK, promoting investments is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and other countries have similar rules. We remove posts and messages that do this.
Keeping Nextroom safe
The community guidelines say what isn’t allowed. To protect members, including from illegal content:
- every profile, post, comment and message has a Report button, and anyone can report by email
- we review every report, and remove illegal content as quickly as we can once we know about it
- people, not automated tools, review content: we don’t use software to scan posts, messages or photos for harmful content
- you can block anyone, which hides you from each other everywhere on Nextroom
- there are daily limits on posts, comments, messages and introductions to stop spam
- where the law requires, we report illegal content to the police or other authorities
If you break these terms or the guidelines, we may hide your content, remove your profile photo, suspend your account (you can still read, but not post, comment, message or send introductions) or close it. Where we can, we’ll tell you why.
You can appeal any decision we make about your content or account, and complain about how we run Nextroom. The contact and complaints page explains how and how quickly we’ll reply.
Under-18s
Nextroom is only for adults. If we have reason to think a member is under 18, we suspend their account and ask them to confirm their age. If they’re under 18, we close the account and delete their information. If you think someone on Nextroom is under 18, report their profile or email us.
If anything on Nextroom suggests a child is at risk, we act the same day and report it to the police or the National Crime Agency where the law requires.
Our responsibility to you
We’ll run Nextroom with reasonable care and skill. Nextroom is free, so to the extent the law allows:
- we aren’t responsible for losses caused by other members, by what they post, or by dealings between members
- we aren’t responsible for loss of profit, business or opportunity
- we aren’t responsible for losses we couldn’t reasonably have expected when you joined
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
If we make important changes, we’ll tell members by email or on the site at least 14 days before they take effect. If you don’t agree, you can delete your account before then.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts. If you live outside the UK, you keep the protection of any consumer laws in your country that can’t be changed by agreement, and you may be able to bring a claim where you live.
